I am thrilled to announce that my multi-panel work, Anniversary Portraits 1-6, has been accepted into this prestigious juried show. This series was created as a celebration of my 20th wedding anniversary this summer. Three are 12 x 12 and three are 12 x 16 wooden panels, each with its own title: Two Bodies, Twenty Years- Heart, my Heart - Rose and Olive - Modest and Not Very - What is Mine is Yours - Intertwined and Progeny. I will let you guess which title goes with which painting.
The juror this year is John Dalton. He is an artist himself, among other things, and is the creator/host of my favorite podcast “Gently Does it” https://www.johndalton.me/ Please visit the link and follow him, if you don’t already. Also, don’t miss John’s Instagram, he posts beautiful paintings and has been posting images of works selected for the show. https://www.instagram.com/johndaltonart/?hl=en
I look so forward to meeting him, David Hummer (WMOCA director) and the other artists who are able to attend the reception. See below for details. Our Mission & Vision
The Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art is a place where people from Northern Wisconsin can experience the work and ideas of artists – both living and deceased – to understand the historical, social and cultural context of the art of our time. WMOCA integrates exhibitions, performances, collections, and educational programs to excite, challenge, and enlighten our visitors.
Our vision will inspire generations of north central Wisconsin residents and visitors from throughout the nation to understand and appreciate the art of our time. We are located in the historic Wausau Club at 309 McClellan Street in the very heart of Wausau’s vibrant downtown, featuring works by nationally & internationally established artists. Our goal is to unleash our region’s creative energy and to engage a broad and diverse audience in conversation about how art connects us, allowing us to grow and thrive as a community.
